Senior Mechanical Engineer – Fuel Tank Design & Fabrication
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer – Fuel Tank Design & Fabrication to join our Engineering Division. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and optimizing large-capacity fuel storage systems for power generation and industrial applications, ensuring full system functionality, compliance with international standards, and strict QA/QC oversight during fabrication and installation.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the design of fuel storage systems (above-ground and underground tanks) with strong knowledge of fuel handling, transfer pumps, day tanks, piping layouts, and safety systems.
• Prepare detailed fabrication drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
• Apply value engineering to reduce costs while maintaining safety and quality.
• Ensure compliance with international codes and standards (API, ASME, UL, etc.).
• Supervise fabrication with expertise in welding processes, materials, and finishing methods.
• Carry out QA/QC inspections, pressure testing, and safety checks during fabrication and installation.
• Liaise with workshops, contractors, and project teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Provide technical input for tenders and support project execution.
Qualifications & Experience
• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7 years’ proven experience in fuel tank design and fabrication.
• Must have hands-on experience in large-capacity tank fabrications exceeding 100,000 liters.
• Strong knowledge of fuel storage system functionality with direct exposure to generator fuel systems (day tanks, transfer pumps, piping, integration with generator sets).
• Good knowledge of welding works, QA/QC procedures, and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with international standards and testing requirements.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
