GENERAL MANAGER - OPERATIONS

Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                                                                                                     

  • Oversee the Sales, Tender Sales, and After-Sales Service functions, ensuring alignment with company objectives and achieving targeted performance across these areas.
  • Lead the Project Execution Division to ensure the successful delivery of projects, maintaining timelines, budget, and quality standards.
  • Provide operational leadership to the Maldives division, ensuring smooth coordination and execution of all business activities, and driving operational excellence in this region.
  • Collaborate with the Finance and HR departments to manage operational budgeting, staffing requirements, and organizational reporting, ensuring that resources are effectively allocated and utilized.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational divisions, identifying and implementing strategies for enhancing efficiency and productivity.
  • Deliver comprehensive operational reports and updates to the Managing Director, providing insights into key business metrics, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure that all business operations meet regulatory, quality, and safety standards, fostering a culture of compliance and accountability throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Preferably between 35 to 50 years of age.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience in the MEP or construction sector is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering. (Degree in Financial Management, Professional Qualification such as, CIMA or Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) is highly desirable).
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and team management skills, with the ability to provide strategic direction and manage cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Experience in handling multidisciplinary projects is essential, along with project management capabilities to oversee and execute complex projects efficiently.
  • Familiarity with both Sri Lankan and Maldivian markets is an advantage.
  • Proven financial management experience, including budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders.
