Assistant Manager – Logistics & Commercial

 

Responsibilities:

 

· Plan and coordinate shipments based on product availability and customer requests to ensure timely and efficient delivery.

· Manage purchase orders (POs), sales contracts, and payment terms while negotiating favorable pricing and delivery terms.

· Track orders and oversee delivery schedules to ensure timely arrivals and address any delays or issues that may arise.

· Liaise with clearing agents and freight forwarders to ensure smooth customs clearance and efficient logistics operations.

· Prepare and manage all necessary import documentation while ensuring compliance with import duty regulations and shipping requirements.

· Maintain and update records of orders, suppliers, and customers to facilitate effective supply chain management.

· Oversee warehouse stock levels and coordinate reordering as needed to maintain optimal inventory levels.

· Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal controls related to the import and shipping of goods.

· Handle fire, marine, and goods in transit insurance requirements, ensuring adequate coverage is in place to mitigate risks.

· Manage Letters of Credit (LC) and negotiate shipping terms with banks to support international trade transactions.

 

Requirements

 

· Age between 30 – 40 years.

· A recognized qualification in Shipping and Logistics Management.

· Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in a similar capacity, with sound knowledge of import/export

· documentation processes.

· Proven track record of managing multiple tasks and meeting strict deadlines and targets.

· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenging situations effectively.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with mandatory fluency in English.

· Proven expertise in managing Letters of Credit.

· Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining
