ASSISTANT MANAGER - HUMAN RESOURCES

We are seeking a competent and experienced Assistant Manager – Human Resources to support the company’s HR operations and contribute at both operational and managerial levels.
Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and training & development.
- Ensure implementation of HR policies and procedures in line with organizational and statutory requirements.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to building a high-performance work culture.
- Coordinate payroll administration, leave management, disciplinary processes, and HR documentation.
- Provide support for workforce planning, succession management, and organizational development initiatives.
- Coordinate HR operations for foreign entities (Maldives and Bangladesh), including remote HR activity support.
- Assist with employee visa processing, work permits, overseas deployment formalities, and coordination with immigration authorities.
- Contribute to HR process improvements, HRIS implementation, and compliance reporting.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant managerial role.
- Prior HR experience in the engineering, construction, MEP, or related industrial sectors is essential.
- Strong knowledge of local labor laws and exposure to international HR practices, particularly in the Maldives, will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage cross-border HR responsibilities with professionalism and independence.
